Re: Alternative GUI v0.30.0 and patched BASE rev 3
#firmware
For BASE firmware updating you need to copy firmware file (xgf) to the X6100 file system. There are few way to do it. One of them is described here
Make sure that X6100 is booted with OEM firmware (without inserted SD card) and connected to WiFi before copying base firmware file.
After copying new files should appear in the system -> firmware upgrade menu. Last step - select desired firmware and press upgrade.
?
Perhaps, I'll inspect BASE flashing process and will be able to implement it within R1CBU in the future.

Re: Low "reception" issue
Ok, much has been learned at my end... I tried the K9DP filter, and things were much improved. Suddenly the PRE and ATT worked as expected. PRE now made things generally louder, and ATT now correctly suppressed the signal as expected. So... clearly something in my area here has changed, but I'm not sure what that is ¡ª a local AM transmitter has increased power perhaps?
?
I would like to move from BASE 1.1.7 back down to 1.1.6. Are there easy instructions available for doing so (with apologies because I'm sure this has been asked repeatedly)?

I know this has probably been asked a thousand times, but... Are there step-by-step instructions for installing the BASE firmware anywhere? I need to move mine down to 1.1.6 for improved receive.

Alternative GUI v0.30.0 and patched BASE rev 3
#firmware
Hi.
This release contains not so much changes on the UI part. Most of the changes is related with a patched BASE firmware.
I added some controls and adaptive notch filter, comparing rev 2.
?
UI might be downloaded from
BASE - from ?
Using BASE witch OEM GUI? is possible, just no compressor controls and output gain control.
Using Alternative UI with OEM BASE firmware also possible - corresponding controls will not be visible in the settings.

X6100 Troubleshooting Help
I¡¯m looking for some advice.?
The last time I used my much loved X6100 it worked perfectly (v1.1.7). The unit is three years old.?
It sat for about a month during a move and when I fired it up there is very little output and receive is very weak. The use of an antenna makes no difference in the signal strength and the normally robust waterfall shows nothing.
I updated the firmware after doing a factory reset, tried different versions, but later restored V1.1.7 (I like it). The battery is fully charged and all the settings are default.
Any thoughts? Thanks for your help. I really appreciate it.

Re: X6100 users at Dayton Hamvention next week
Would love to. But is too expensive from San Salvador to attend.

Re: Low "reception" issue
There may be a short circuit to ground at the receiver input before the bandpass filter. When ATT is enabled, there is a resistance across the short circuit to ground, so to speak, and reception is possible via parasitic capacitances to the bandpass filter input. The ATT circuit is located between the R/T relay and the bandpass filter. Am 10. Mai 2025 13:20:21 MESZ schrieb "Randy K7RAN via groups.io" <k7ran@...>:

Re: Low "reception" issue
I'm in the middle of a fairly large city, and the BCI filter is essential. Of course you can say goodbye to 160 meters. For me though, the reception problem was a combo of BCI and the BASE app. With BCI and BASE of 1.6 (Georgy's modified BASE is great) things are probably as good as they're going to get. |
