Alternative GUI v0.30.0 and patched BASE rev 3 #firmware

Hi.
This release contains not so much changes on the UI part. Most of the changes is related with a patched BASE firmware.
I added some controls and adaptive notch filter, comparing rev 2.
?
UI might be downloaded from
BASE - from
?
Using BASE witch OEM GUI? is possible, just no compressor controls and output gain control.
Using Alternative UI with OEM BASE firmware also possible - corresponding controls will not be visible in the settings.

Re: X6100 Troubleshooting Help

My first thought: not a software issue but an internally disconnected BNC. If you TX? in a dummy load (in NFM or CW): is there a normal power output and normal SWR?

X6100 Troubleshooting Help

I¡¯m looking for some advice.?
The last time I used my much loved X6100 it worked perfectly (v1.1.7). The unit is three years old.?
It sat for about a month during a move and when I fired it up there is very little output and receive is very weak. The use of an antenna makes no difference in the signal strength and the normally robust waterfall shows nothing.
I updated the firmware after doing a factory reset, tried different versions, but later restored V1.1.7 (I like it). The battery is fully charged and all the settings are default.
Any thoughts? Thanks for your help. I really appreciate it.

Re: X6100 users at Dayton Hamvention next week

Would love to. But is too expensive from San Salvador to attend.

If anyone is interested, we could get together to talk all things X6100 for half an hour Friday or Saturday - perhaps somewhere near the Radioddity booth.

Re: Low "reception" issue

There may be a short circuit to ground at the receiver input before the bandpass filter. When ATT is enabled, there is a resistance across the short circuit to ground, so to speak, and reception is possible via parasitic capacitances to the bandpass filter input. The ATT circuit is located between the R/T relay and the bandpass filter.

Yes, Rainer ¡ª ATT (!) has to be ON (!)
?
If PRE preamplifier is on, then I don¡¯t hear any signals (!!!!!!)

Re: extra speaker output component values

Thanks for your help. After installing a 1k ohm resistor and replacing the missing components, everything is working fine.

Re: Modified BASE firmware - rev2

Hi Greg,
?
Thanks for all the great work!!

Re: Low "reception" issue

I'm in the middle of a fairly large city, and the BCI filter is essential. Of course you can say goodbye to 160 meters. For me though, the reception problem was a combo of BCI and the BASE app. With BCI and BASE of 1.6 (Georgy's modified BASE is great) things are probably as good as they're going to get.

Re: Low "reception" issue

I guess, it might be due to overloading radio input with a strong AM stations.
You can try to use a BCI filter. For example - this /g/xiegu-x6100/topic/k9dp_qrp_bci_filter/102162571

I'm working on the GUI part. Hope will publish both (GUI and patched BASE) in a few days.

Re: extra speaker output component values

Hello, thanks for your thoughts. It was just the solder joints that came loose ¡ª the socket is intact. What had me worried was that resistor. Now I¡¯ll try it with a 1k ohm and see how it goes.

¡ apologies, I forgot to post the link :/

I accidentally dropped the device while an external speaker was connected, and the speaker jack broke. Along with the jack, a capacitor and what I believe is an SMD resistor behind it also got damaged. One component is completely broken. Is there anyone who can help identify its value? I¡¯ll share a picture for reference.

I did exactly the same to mine but didn¡¯t manage to break the resistor but I did manage to break the socket and some of the track. If you need a replacement the eBay link below is an almost exact match.

Re: extra speaker output component values

Thank you for your help! It¡¯s not an exact match, but I¡¯ll try using a slightly larger 1 k¦¸ SMD resistor and see how it goes. ?

Re: extra speaker output component values

My device ist currently open. I measured 1 kohm.

Re: Low "reception" issue

Mean you ATT or PRE?

Ok, maybe this is an epidemic!
?
I didn't have problems before, and I don't think I've ever changed the app or base... My APP is 1.1.8 ¡ª and my BASE is 1.1.7 ...
?
And suddenly my receive is almost nonexistent UNLESS I put the ATT on and I turn up RF Gain to 100. At that point I can hear signals again, but they aren't as strong as they used to be at all. This is TERRIBLE.
?
Can anybody help me? Has anyone seen this before? I'm completely stumped by this.

Thank you,
