First - I have a new x6100 with latest firmware installed. I have NOT yet used the R1CBU firmware, I¡¯m monitoring these threads to see what¡¯s going on.
DHCP does NOT work in stock firmware. It¡¯s a known issue, and has not yet been addressed. You¡¯ll have to put in your own IP address, and then turn WiFi on. For my unit, took 3 or so tries before it worked. From that point on - it works each time I turn WiFi on.
Since DHCP has NEVER worked in stock firmware, I don¡¯t know if that was addressed in R1CBU, and if it was - which version of the firmware? Much of this thread has gone back to modifying the 1.6 firmware - maybe that¡¯s the issue?
Also be aware - ¡°mixed¡± networks that use the same SSID for both 2.4/5GHz does not always work with SOME devices. This is both the fault of the router as well as the device. Some routers evidently don¡¯t implement something properly, some device drivers don¡¯t. If you can - turn a guest network on temporarily with a different SSID for 2.4GHz ONLY. MAKE SURE YOU PASSWORD IT. See if you can connect to that. If that works - then something about the router ¡°mixed¡± network isn¡¯t working properly. I had to do that with my mesh network to get it to attach.
If the mixed network is the issue - then you¡¯ve got more work to do to secure your network. Exclude all other MAC addresses, etc.
