I operate from a HOA controlled condo. The HOA has allowed me to put up a permanent 31' vertical w/ remote tune. I happen to live at the edge of a ravine which drops off 50-60' to the West.
My station rig is an IC-7610. I use the X6100 for QRP & POTA activities. When operating at home, I find that, generally, the X6100 hears as well as the 7610. I set the filter at about 250 Hz. I make use of the messaging capabilities and they work well. I have owned X6100 since Aug of 23, use it for CW and have had no problems. I also own and use a KX2 and a SW-3B.

I am relatively inexperienced.? I enjoy learning theory.? The only HF rig I have is the X6100: low cost, internal battery, internal speaker, internal microphone, a good internal antenna tuner—lots of other features, that work for me—it is an all-in-one unit, and highly portable.? I have only used SSB; digital formats do not currently interest me, as I have zero desire to drag around a laptop and an external battery.? I use random wire antennas, and I have a portable/walking whip antenna (of dubious quality).? The battery not flashing when charging and the battery indicator not going from green, to yellow, to red bothered me at first; I got over it.? For the money spent, I am pleased with its overall performance.
