I also got my JPC-12 on Ali for $109 if I remember correctly.? If you can weld, soldering will be a breeze.? Just make sure all metal surfaces to be soldered are absolutely brite and shiny clean.? Do that and the solder will wick right to the joint in seconds.

The Chinese version is available at Aliexpress and eBay for a little over $100. It works fantastic. I adapted mine to use a small tripod instead of the spike, and also to mount to the roof of my car for winter park activations. I shot a short video of the latter for my YT channel (link below)
