I don't think that you are crazy. I have been thinking the same thing since I started using the R1CBU firmware. To my ear the receive audio sounds much better with the rig running Oleg's firmware, especially on CW.?

I hear a lot less birdies tuning across the band too. I also really like the "cleaner" interface that Oleg has implemented. I am a big believer in "less being more". There are still some "anomalies" on the waterfall with the R1CBU firmware but I generally don't hear anything when I tune past them.??
