I just discovered that my 3.5 installation of xephem stopped
working. The main thing I have done to my system recently was to upgrade
from RedHat 7.1 to RedHat 7.2 (enigma). Now when I start xephem, the main
screen is full of little greyed-out squares where the menu characters,
words, etc. should be. The main menu box and everything appears and is the
right size and all, there just aern't any characters. The help "ballons"
work by the way.
What I have done so far to try and fix it to no avail is... I've
re-installed the OpenMotif libraries and header files. I've re-compiled
and re-installed xephem. BTW I'm working with the source code.
Everything worked well and went smoothly when I was running 7.1
and the earlier 7.2. Any thoughts or suggestions on what else might have
changed that would cause xephem to break?
