The internal control setup in an X isn't all that complex. But note
that those subsystems are scattered across multiple boards. The radio
isn't up to 9600 baud packet signalling, and the turnaround time isn't
all that quick. If those things don't counterindicate your proposed
application, then the Moto manuals (try repeaterbuilder.com) and
onfreq.com have the information you'd need.
