Thanks to Jared, KF2MR, for presenting at tonight's meeting. Unfortunately, only 2 people showed up besides Jared and myself. I will try to put up slides, and audio to our website soon. One of the messages of the program from Jared was to encourage XARC to submit scores for the January VHF Contest as a local club. We would need at least 4 and as many as 10 to submit as a local club. We could submit more, but we'd be in the Medium Club category. Which is OK if we have enough interest. The contest is January 20 2PM until and January 21 at 11PM EST. Consider joining us. 2 meter FM is good enough if that's all you have. I will send out a note when Jared's presentation is on the website. We also need to check who is on our ARRL contest roster and who is not. In case anyone is interested, before I advertise this anywhere else, my Ameritron AL-811 is going up for sale. It is 600 PEP watts output on SSB, around 400 watts on CW. Usually needs 60-70 watts input for full output. It is in very good working condition, I am the original owner, and it is maybe 6 years old or so. It has not had a ton of use. I have not had any problems with it, and the 12 and 10 meter bands have been enabled, though they don't quite usually get to full output on those bands, which is typical from what I read. Currently going for $1399 new at DX Engineering. I believe I still have original box. Cheapest way to increase your power out 4x-6x. Asking $800. 73, Brian

Our November meeting is 7PM this Thursday, November 9, at the Webster Rec Center. Officially, this should be our election meeting, but we will see if we have enough people for a quorum on the one hand, and it seems like members have been content to keep current slate of officers. pumpkin patrol (PP) is tonight and tomorrow 9-11. The jammer may have been identified, and not a problem this year, but just in case, we may be asked to go foxhunting. I'll let you know if they call me. PP were on 145.11 last year but might be on 146.61 this year. They also have plans for alternate methods that will be harder to jam.
