Preliminary FD Results - WOW!!!
开云体育Folks, I know I say we did well every year, but this year we had far and
away the best FD ever by almost any measure.? I project we will have 1067 QSOs for 3756 QSO points, 1910 Bonus
points, 5,666 total points, and a projected top 11.6% of the 3A
class. Specifically: 1067 total QSOS
1910 Bonus Points
Total points (projected) 5,666 Place (projected)? Top 11.6% of 3A class By comparison, last year we had 992 QSOs for 4,336 points and top 19.1% OF 3A. I've also attached a spreadsheet comparing results of all 38 of our FDs. On top of that we had many more visitors than ever including
several families and kids. Great Job everyone!! Can't wait until next year. Thanks and 73, Bob, K2OID

What to Bring to Field Day
Folks,
Attached is a resend of the checklist for everyone to consider bringing to FD.? If you have anything useful but? not on the list, please just bring it. It's looking like this year's FD is going to be a wet one, so come prepared for some rain.? Fortunately there is a shelter on site that has plenty of room, so staying dry should not be a major problem. Wire antenna set up is Friday, June 23 at 10:00 AM.? The triband yagi, rigs, logging network, and power distribution are planned to be set up Saturday morning starting at 10:00AM.? The contest itself runs from 2:00 PM Saturday to 2:00 PM Sunday.? Take down begins at 2:00 PM Sunday and should be complete by 4:00 PM. All are welcome to our Field Day.? I hope you will join us for all or part of the weekend. 73, Bob Karz, K2OID 585 729-5308 -- This email has been checked for viruses by AVG antivirus software. www.avg.com |

lower soccer fields at Kent Park in Webster.? Wire antenna set up will be Friday, June 23.? available.? We plan to assign 2 to 3 people to set up each wire
antenna.? It typically will take about 1 to 2 hours. Please let me know if you can help with Saturday morning equipment/tribander set up or Sunday take down as well. I have already contacted several of us to bring specific items
(e.g. antennas, rigs, generators, laptops for logging).? I will be

Re: XARC History
Had another recollection and acknowledgement to Norm Peer. Norm had a? 2 meter amp that we always used for the contest and really helped us get out.? Don't remember the power output but think it was 100w which was significant at the time. 73 Mike KE2LU? On Fri, Jun 9, 2023, 7:58 PM Brian Donovan - K2AS <k2as@...> wrote:

Brian Just wanted to acknowledge Barry Ricket's contributions to the Rochester cup.? Barry recognized that the multiplier relationship to percentage of club member participation favored our smaller club and really pushed the members to participate .? Which gave us a higher score. XARC History
Hello Folks,
As part of my effort to document our club, I added a post on our website about our involvement in the Rochester Cup, and subsequently winning the ARRL Gavel for the 1993 Medium Club category in the January 1993 VHF Sweepstakes.? A lot of club members participated to make it happen, but it is nice to reflect on this achievement 30 years later.? Stan Avery WM3D was our high scorer, which was a bit of a surprise to me, though I admit I didn't really know Stan. and you can easily get to it on the home page: ? My memory is limited, but if others wish to add to this story, it would be great.? One can comment on the Post, but you need to login.? If you were registered at one time, but don't know password, try the forgot password links.? If you were never registered, try to register. Or you can email me your comments and I will get them in somehow. WordPress is the website/blogging software we use, so don't be surprised to see that popup, as they handle all of the authentication for the website. - Brian |

Thanks to all who attended our June meeting - Dusty KF2CF, Rich K2RAH, Joe AG2Y, Bob K2OID, Steve KA1CNF, Brian K2AS, and via Zoom, Peter W2SKY, Harry W KF2TV, and Harry R W2HRY.
Major topic is Field Day June 24-25.? Stay tuned for emails from K2OID, but we are well prepared as usual.? Some initial setup on Friday June 23 tentatively at 10AM.? Tower, tri-bander and station setup on Saturday 10AM. Bands are in good shape, let's make this a memorable Field Day. Take photos, videos, etc.? We'll post them on our website.? Monroe County ARES is helping us out again with a GOTA station, if you know any young and/or new hams, bring them by! No official meetings in July or August, but we may plan a lunch at a park in one of those months, stay tuned. Read about XARCs first Field Day here - and maybe read a few other musings from myself if you are interested, just go to our web page Still looking for some other members to write some posts, see the article "How to Author a Post/Article" here - .? It can be anything ham radio related.? If you can't sign in, don't worry, we can get it fixed.? Contact me. If you haven't seen my email to the RARA group, we have started a new email list for System Fusion in the Rochester area.? If you are interested, go to /g/WNYFusion to sign up. Hope to see you in September, if not Field Day or a TBD picnic. 73, Brian |
