Cope and Jay White will team up to take on AEW World champion Jon Moxley and Claudio Castagnoli in a Brisbane brawl. The match was made after a big brawl between FTR, Death Riders, White, and Cope opened the show. Also, Australia's own Buddy Matthews will be on the card and will challenge Continental champion Kazuchika Okada for the title. This now brings a total of four matches for the show which will take place on February 15. The show will air on TNT and Max after the NBA All-Star Weekend programming ends at approximately 10:30PM ET. TONY KHAN SAYS GRAND SLAM: AUSTRALIA WAS ALWAYS GOING TO BE A TV EVENT- Speaking to TVInsider, AEW President Tony Khan claimed that Grand Slam: Australia was always planned as a television event. Khan, who announced Grand Slam: Australia from the Suncorp Stadium in August of last year, said that TNT "recently" brought to them the opportunity to follow the NBA All-Star weekend. "We saw it as a huge opportunity. It was a great vote of confidence for our partners at Warner Brothers Discovery," Khan said. "It will be one of the biggest nights of the year on TNT. It’s a great opportunity given the lead-in." Grand Slam: Australia is no longer taking place from the Suncorp Stadium and it has moved to the much smaller Brisbane Entertainment Centre, where the show is close to selling out with around 12,000 fans in attendance. "This will be one of the biggest TV events of the year. This will arguably be the biggest TV card of the year," Khan added. Grand Slam: Australia will air after the NBA All-Star Weekend programming on TNT, currently scheduled for a 10:30PM ET start time. COLLISION RATING- As expected, Collision on Saturday got killed in the ratings, drawing only 197,000 viewers on TNT in head-to-head with the Royal Rumble, down 53,000 viewers from the previous week. This was the lowest number the show has done in its usual time slot. In 18-49, Collision had a 0.04 rating, down 0.03 from the prior week. The Max viewership numbers are not part of this rating. (Ratings credit: Programming Insider) CHRIS JERICHO: TV RATINGS AND TICKET SALES DON'T MEAN MUCH ANYMORE- In an interview with Chris Van Vliet, ROH World champion Chris Jericho claimed that ratings and selling tickets don't mean as much anymore due to amount of money networks are throwing at wrestling companies. "I think probably from a financial standpoint, as a business, I think wrestling is the biggest it’s ever been," Jericho said. "Maybe not from a complete ratings standpoint, but things have changed. Ratings don’t mean as much as they used to and selling tickets in buildings don’t mean as much as they used to because there’s so much money in television alone, and that’s never been that way before." Up until a couple of years ago, Jericho said that AEW would overtake WWE in the ratings and labeled himself as the "Demo God" for the high ratings in the 18-49 demo his segments used to achieve. "It’s just ridiculous amounts of money towards the companies now, because of the popularity and because of the ratings that wrestling draws," Jericho added. JOHN CENA'S TBS SERIES CANCELED- TBS has cancelled John Cena's The Wipeout series. The news was delivered by Jason Sarlanis, President of TNT, TBS, TruTV, ID & HLN, Linear and Streaming at Warner Bros. Discovery, during a keynote session at the Realscreen Summit in Miami. "Wipeout is inherently comedic and a joy to watch. But I think what we’re what we’re looking at is being realistic in terms of the entire environment. We have to recalibrate," he said according to a story on Deadline. Wipeout was brought back in 2021 with Cena and Nicole Byer as hosts. There are a few more episodes left to air after the series took a year-long hiatus in 2024 and it returned on TBS in January. NIKKI BELLA TEASES MORE WWE APPEARANCES SOON- Nikki Bella confirmed on the Nikki & Brie Show podcast that her Royal Rumble appearance was not just a one-off and will be working with WWE more. "You will see another Fearless Nikki appearance sooner than later, that is for sure," Nikki said. "I'm definitely doing more than what I just did on Saturday." Nikki was #30 in the women's Royal Rumble, her first match in a WWE ring since the 2022 Royal Rumble match. The relationship between the twins and WWE went south at one point and both were released. But Nikki is hoping that her return will come with another Bella by her side. "Hopefully, Brie Mode will be by my side soon. More on that to come," she added. "I’m looking forward to the road ahead, attacking it with a positive and unstoppable mindset." The injury took place on the January 24 episode of Smackdown in a match against Johnny Gargano. A torn pec can take up to eight months to heal properly after surgery. JDC APPEARS ON NXT WITH FANDANGO THEME SONG- TNA's JDC, the artist formerly known as Fandango in WWE, returned to NXT using his old Fandango theme song. JDC interrupted the Heritage Cup champion Lexis King and told King that he is here to represent The System and next week, he's getting a shot at the Heritage Cup on NXT. JDC got a humongous pop from the WWE Performance Center crowd who were clearly happy to see him. "That music right there means the world to me, so thank you guys," JDC told the crowd as chants of "Welcome back" rang through the building.
