Sucks that it happens, but it's the nature of the beast, I guess. ======================================================== //->> NEWS FROM THE WRESTLING-ONLINE NEWSWIRE Web version at BARON CORBIN, INDI HARTWELL, AND TEGAN NOX GONE FROM WWE- The journey of three WWE Superstars - Baron Corbin, Tegan Nox, and Indi Hartwell - has ended according to a story by Fightful which was also confirmed by other industry insiders. Baron Corbin's contract is not being renewed when it expires shortly and will be a free agent as soon as it ends. "That’s all she wrote folks. It’s been real and I appreciate everyone who supported me," Corbin wrote on social media after news came out. Corbin has been signed with WWE since 2012 and spent years in NXT before making it to the main roster. He has not appeared on WWE television in months after his tag team with Apollo Crews was disbanded. Indi Hartwell was released from her deal and is currently serving her 90-day no-compete clause. The Australian star has worked for WWE since 2019 and was in NXT before she was called up to the main roster last year. "Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened," Hartwell wrote on X. Also released was Tegan Nox, with the former star also having a 90-day no-compete clause. Just like Corbin, her TV appearances were very limited in 2024 and was rarely used. The Welsh star had a rough time in WWE, suffering two major injuries which kept her out of action for almost two years combined. She started with the company in 2017 and was released in 2021 before returning a year later. CROWN JEWEL CHAMPIONS TO RECEIVE SUPER BOWL-LIKE RING- The winners of the WWE Crown Jewel championships will not have to carry the title back to the United States as Triple H revealed on the Kickoff show that the titles will remain in Saudi Arabia, showcased at the WWE Experience in Riyadh. Instead, they will get something else that they can show off. "The champions, whoever that is after tomorrow night, will walk away with a massive ring, like a Super Bowl ring," Triple H said to a crowd inside the WWE Experience. Liv Morgan will battle Nia Jax in the first match and Gunther will take on Cody Rhodes in the other match where the titles will be on the line. ROH CLOSE TO A TV DEAL- Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer is reporting that Tony Khan is close to finalizing a television deal for Ring of Honor which would be the first time under his ownership that ROH finds itself on television. Ever since Khan bought the company in March 2022 from Sinclair Broadcasting, ROH has transitioned to weekly streaming shows on the company's streaming service HonorClub. Meltzer adds that the rumored station is TruTV, which is on cable and part of the Warner Bros Discovery slate of channels. TruTV primarily broadcasts reruns of comedy, documentaries, soaps, and reality shows, but is transitioning to live sports during primetime. DYNAMITE RATING- The Fright Night Dynamite drew 628,000 viewers, down just 9,000 viewers from last week's broadcast despite heavy competition on TV from the MLB World Series game which had over 18 million viewers and NBA on ESPN. The show did a 0.19 rating in 18-49, the same as last week, and was #6 on the top 50 cable chart for the night. (Ratings credit: Programming Insider) ACE AUSTIN RELEASES STATEMENT ON CHRIS BEY'S INJURY- Chris Bey's tag team partner, Ace Austin, broke his silence for the first time since Bey's injury and published a statement through TNA Wrestling. Bey underwent successful neck surgery earlier this week after an incident during a tag team title match against The Hardys during last Sunday's Impact television tapings. "I was in the ring with Chris when the incident occurred last Sunday and I’ve been by his side ever since. It was just as normal as anything we’ve done in the ring thousands of times," Austin wrote. "Everything was alright until it wasn’t. Each moment is precious and I’m cherishing every moment I’ve had in the ring and around the world with Chris, and every moment I have by his side right now." Austin added that there will be a lot of hard work ahead and Chris won't be alone for any of it. "He’s going to be surrounded by love and support from every single one of us. The road to recovery is going to be easy as ABC," he concluded. While the injury he suffered was never disclosed, according to Bey's girlfriend he suffered a broken neck. ELDERLY MAN SCAMMED NEARLY $1 MILLION FROM ALEXA BLISS IMPOSTOR- The New York Times has published a story recounting how a man, named Alfred Mancinelli, was scammed out of almost $1 million from a person impersonating WWE Superstar Alexa Bliss online. The elderly man thought he was in a romantic relationship with Bliss and his entire savings and granddaughter's college fund were completely taken away by scammers. When his son tried to stop his father from spending more money, he sued his son and the last $100,000 which were frozen were returned back to him, which he also spent on the fake Alexa Bliss. The NY Times said that while Mancinelli was being scammed way back in 2018, things got worse during the pandemic. Mancinelli died at 79 yeas of age last Summer.
