//->> OPENING WORDS FROM THE EDITOR

NXT was good, but not the earth-shattering show I was expecting, or what HBK hyped us for. Maybe they're saving it for next week when it matters against AEW. Who knows.

AEW MEDIA RIGHTS ANNOUNCEMENT IMMINENT
- The announcement of AEW's new media rights deal with Warner Bros. Discovery is expected imminently, as in, today, to coincide with Dynamite's fifth year anniversary. AEW President Tony Khan said on X that he "may" have an announcement by showtime today, with that announcement being the confirmation of the new television deal. The announcement has been expected for weeks after both sides wrapped up their negotiations. The deal is not expected to be exclusive as AEW is also working with another network, reportedly FOX, to bring another show to television. Today's rumored announcement will only concern the deal with Warner Bros. Discovery. Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Wrestling is also reporting through his Select service that one part of the deal is for Dynamite and Collision to be simulcast live on Max apart from airing on cable television.

DYNAMITE CELEBRATES FIFTH YEAR ANNIVERSARY TONIGHT
- Dynamite celebrates its fifth anniversary tonight with a live broadcast on TBS from the Petersen Events Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in front a crowd of just under 5,000 fans. Four matches have been announced so far, two of which are for a title. Headlining the show will be AEW World champion Bryan Danielson vs AEW Continental champion Kazuchika Okada. This match is for both titles, but the Continental title is only on the line for the first 20 minutes of the match. Also set for tonight are Will Ospreay vs Ricochet for the AEW International title, "Hangman" Adam Page vs Juice Robinson, and Serena Deeb vs Britt Baker. The show is expected to have a longer than usual overrun.

TRICK WILLIAMS WINS NXT TITLE
- Trick Williams walked out of the Allstate Arena with extra weight in his luggage as he was crowned the new NXT champion on the premiere episode on The CW. Williams defeated Ethan Page in the main event of the show which also had CM Punk as the guest referee. The finish of the match saw Page delivering the GTS on Trick, but he kicked out. Page then tried to hit his Ego's Edge finisher but Williams found a way out by sliding and then hit the Trick Shot as Punk counted to three. Confetti fell as Williams celebrated and then Page got in CM Punk's face, who he pushed and Punk hit a GTS on Page as payback as the crowd exploded. This is Williams' second run with the NXT title, with his 75-day run coming to an end courtesy of Ethan Page, who held the title for 86 days himself.

PUNK BUYS PIZZA FOR ALL FANS AT ALLSTATE ARENA
- Following the conclusion of NXT from the Allstate Arena last night, CM Punk informed the fans that everyone can get free pizza. "I don't want to cut the champ's celebration short, but I gotta tell you a little secret, on your way out, ladies and gentlemen, get yourself some Lou Malnati's pizza on us," Punk said. "Share with your friends, share with your neighbors, remember I love you...we are NXT!" A Lou Malnati truck was stationed outside in the parking lot with staff handing out pizza to everyone who walked up. Founded in 1971, Lou Malnati's Pizzeria has become one of the Chicago's area's best-known deep dish pizza restaurant. When Punk returned to pro wrestling with AEW in 2021, he also bought ice cream for all fans at the United Center.

CORA JADE RETURNS
- Cora Jade made her return to NXT last night and caused Gulia her NXT Women's title, helping her frenemy Roxanne Perez defeat the Japanese star. Jade interfered in the match wearing a hoodie, attacking Giulia just as Perez was distracting the referee while holding the NXT Women's title. Jade pulled Giulia outside the ring and hit a DDT on the floor, then threw Giulia back in the ring and Perez delivered the Pop Rocks for the win. With Perez celebrating in the ring, Jade removed her hoodie to reveal herself as Perez looked amused. The two were best friends in the past before Jade turned on Perez. This was Jade's first appearance since January. She had been out injured with a torn ACL she suffered at an NXT non-televised live event. She blew her knee just a month after returning from a five-month break. You can see her return at .

BIANCA BELAIR AND JADE CARGILL TO WRESTLE ON NXT
- Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill will be wrestling on next week's NXT following their appearance on last night's show in Rosemont. The WWE Women's Tag Team champions came out to help NXT Women's North American champion Kelani Jordan in her ongoing battle against the Fatal Influence trio. After their segment, it was announced that Belair and Jade would team up with Jordan to take on Fallon Henley, Jack Jane, and Jazmyn Nye in a six-woman tag team match on next week's show. The October 8 episode of NXT from St. Louis will go head-to-head with AEW's Title Tuesday episode. Randy Orton is also scheduled to appear and wrestle against Je'Von Evans while Sexyy Red will have a musical performance.

NEW LOGO, NEW TITLES FOR NXT
- Black and gold is no more as a new era of NXT was ushered in last night on The CW with a brand new logo and brand new men and women's NXT titles. The modified logo drops the longer design to the N and T letters of the brand's acronym, with a more streamlined font and using the black and silver colors. The now older logo was originally introduced for NXT 2.0 with more colors but that was changed to black and gold again when McMahon left the company. The new NXT titles also drop the large X on the main plate, with the new logo now front and center. The men's title has a black leather strap and the women's title has a white leather strap just like the main roster. You can see the new logo and titles at .

VIGNETTE FOR NEW NXT ARRIVAL DELTA AIRS
- A vignette for a new NXT arrival aired last night prior to the main event of the show. The 20-second promo showed a red-headed woman walking down a highway in the desert with a skyline showing in the distance. As the camera pans upwards, you see the highway sign with 10 and 27 shown, numbers that suggest October 27. October 27 is NXT's next premium live event Halloween Havoc which will be held at the Giant Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania. The vignette is to promote the arrival of Australian star Delta, who signed with the company a few months ago. Delta wrestled her last match for Riot City Wrestling in her home country this past July. The promo can be seen at .

- WWE Raw drew 1,516,000 viewers this week, up 178,000 viewers from the previous week and going against two NFL games again which had a combined audience of almost 20 million viewers. WrestleMania 41 I am looking to do what I’ve done 3 times now and enter the main event," Rhodes said. "But I think it will be something that, perhaps, is bigger than anyone anticipated!" Rhodes has main evented night two of WrestleMania 39 against Roman Reigns, night one of WrestleMania 40 with Seth Rollins against The Rock and Roman Reigns, and night two of WrestleMania 40 against Roman Reigns, the night he "finished his story." WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas is being promoted already as being the biggest one ever, although attendance-wise it will be anything but that due to the size limitation of the Allegiant Stadium.
