The input shaft and the countershaft in the transmission are being turned. The drag of the gears slogging through the gear lube is what you are noticing.

Easier Starting
I noticed that my truck starts easier if I have the clutch pushed in
versus having it in neutral and my feet off the pedals. Is something

Pictures indicate either a CJ5 with a hard top or a DJ5. The high
mounted rear view mirror on the left side makes it look like a DJ5.
Is this two or four wheel drive? Left hand or right hand steering?

Its kind of hard to tell but it looks a lot like my dj5 dispatcher.Ken is it 2 wheel drive?. mine has left hand drive and the hard top is welded on,the doors were available as hinged like a normal cj5
