Hello, congrats on your Jeep
1) Year Identification is easiest by looking at the serial number on the
firewall tag (if it's there) is
a link to cj2 serial numbers - from there you can get to other models serial
numbers.
2) Do you know what model it is ? (CJ2,3,3b,5)?
3) The driveline is plenty strong for a 6 cylinder, what type did you have
in mind? As far as how easy or hard it is to do depends on your level of
skill - In my case stuffing a V6 Buick into my 2a has proven to be a lot
more difficult than I'd originally thought (and to be honest probably more
than I should have bitten off). But with lots of excellent help from the
list I've got it mostly sorted out.
Adios

Subject: [WT] Willys cj2a jeep
From: kmcmanus@...
I recently got my hands on a willys jeep. How do I find out what year
it is, and what type of flathead it is? I want to modify it from a
four to a 6-cylinder, but I want to know what I'm getting in to ; the
driveline and its strengtn.
Thanks
Anthony
