Whoops, screwed that up. Here it is again in messed up format cause I'm
too lazy to retype.

Today I ran across a '53 CJ3B for sale for $200. No title. The "B" is in
pretty amazing shape for that amount and if I had a space for it, it would
be
on it's way to my house. It looks fairly complete and restorable to me.
The
grill is in very good condition (trim rings on lights are pitted though),
the
left front fender is good also, and the right isn't too bad. (some one
drilled > holes in the tops for Postal style turn signals) The tool box
and
floors have classic rust syndrome, the little steps are rusted bad, and has
other body rust. The windshield frame has surface rust but is savable,
glass
is busted. Has the seat frames, but material is long gone. No rear seat.
F
head looks complete, even has oil bath air cleaner and accessories. Has
narrow 15" wheels that look like smaller versions of the 16" ones off my
2A.
White w/ forest green wheels. The hood hinge was rusted away and you can
see
the seam down the middle of the hood from the outside, but otherwise OK.
No
tailgate. Farm implement hitch on rear.
My questions are:
What axles came under a '53 CJ3B and what gear possibilities?
Could the 15" wheels be original?
Anyone (especially in Ohio) interested in buying a parts Jeep w/ me?
Anyone just want the owners info so they can save the noble beast?
I was at work when I saw the Jeep and couldn't crawl around it cause I've
already ruined too many pairs of Dockers due to Jeeps. (Gets expensive)
I'm
going to try to see it again this weekend. Oh, one more thing, no
overdrive or
it would already be in my drive.
