Subject: CJ2A U-Joints
Hi list. Anyone out there have the Spicer number for the driveshaft
U-Joints for a 1946 CJ2A. My NAPA is telling me their books only go back
to '55 on the Jeeps. I'm at work right now and can't look it up. Also are
all four the same? I knocked mine out (took some serious effort on a
couple of them) but didn't bother to scrape off the 50 years of crud to
look for the number. I was hoping to pick 'em up today cause it's my last
chance before the weekend and I wanted to finish rehab-ing the drive shafts
this weekend. Thanks.
According to my Turner catalog, the CJ-2A uses the same U-joint as the MB,
CJ-3A and M38. They show a different part number for all other models
through 1975. All four joints are identical. It seems to have to do with
the diameter of the bearings. I ordered my joints from Turner. It's their
part number 9013 which lists for about $13 each. Sorry, but I have no idea
what the corresponding numbers would be from NAPA.
Always,
Jerry
