CJ's (stands for civilian jeep) of any description did not come ALONG UNTIL
AFTER THE WAR IN ABOUT 46-OR 47. So if you are referring to a 1943 model it
would have to be an army model made by either Ford (GPW) or Willys (MB).
Between them they built about a half million units between 1940 to 1945 Almost
identical jeeps. After the war and due to the popularity of the jeeps with
the returning GI's, Willys saw the opportunity for a good market and started
producing the CJ-2 about late 46 or 47.
