With the seat frames & window trim off to the powder coating shop &
seats in for new covers, it's time to look into getting the bumpers
redone. I've looked at powder coating and didn't like the lack of
shine. When getting a rough quote from the local chroming shop, it
came in at around $1200. I have a 50 1/2 Willys Wagon with the wrap
around rear bumper (3 pieces) and the front bumper has the extra bar
on top along with the side bars & guards (6 pieces ). What have you
all done to get a nice looking bumper, send it to a re-chroming
shop? Who did you use and about what did it cost. I don't mind
spending the $1200 to get a new looking shiny bumper, but would like
to pick the hive mind on what you all did. My neighbor works for
FedEx and can get decent ground shipping rates for me. The wagon
goes in to the shop for a new coat of paint this month too. Soon
I'll be able to post some pics of the progress being done. I even re-
welded the dash to accept the stock gauges, now I just have to find
some, ha-ha. My father had drilled it out to accept the round gauges
back in the 80's. Glad to say the chrome I do have is shinning up
nice.
Thanks for reading my short novel,
