Re: Interesting listing on EBay

I had something turn-key in mind. Old story I read said that (at the
time) you could buy a VW on the lot for about $3000. Buy it over the
parts counter and it would cost $12,000 and you would still have to
put it together. Actually, I've always wondered why the more
extensive modifiers don't use this route. All fresh parts, no rust,
and nothing to throw away. Best of all, it leaves the original jeeps
for us restorers. The Mitsubishi in the ad is still a good looking
jeep. I think you could get used to the wrong side drive. The postal
employees don't seem to have a problem. Does anybody know if
Mitsubishi is still making these? Seems like I saw something
somewhere to indicate they did. Wonder whose arm you would have to
twist to get them to consider importing them here? Of course, that's
probably road-blocked by Chrysler. The license is undoubtedly for
Japanese production only.

Actually FlatFenders are still available. However you need to buy
all the
pieces. Omix-ADA supplies most if not all EXCEPT the grill. I have
heard
even the frames are available. Of course the cost would be
outrageous.
