Mischief Managed.. It was the Farnsworth speed setting. I had 22WPM, 5 WPM Farnsworth. Not sure why so low as I haven't tried copying receive groups where it would matter. With 22/10, the delay is too short to bother. I can live with that as I won't be trying to stay at 5 WPM Farnsworth long. Thanks for all the digging. I had my esp32 Tutor in a metal enclosure I had on hand. I'm in process of locating a sloped front plastic enclosure that will again allow access to the ESP programming port. On to practice!
