Fw: ARRL FD 2021 Entry - K6RFC

开云体育

I used my club callsign, K6RFC, while at home on Saturday, using N1MM as
my logger.? Made 141 QSOs and listed my club submission as GVARC/SBCARA,
when I submitted my score to the ARRL website, so hopefully it will count for
our club total.

Tnx and 73,
Jim? W6SC

Hi all,

? ? ?This has been a giant nightmare.? From mysterious things that come and go,
to usual setup problems, I'm done with N3FJP.? It took nearly three hours to figure
out how to get their SW to run my rig and its microKeyer 2 interface.? The final blow?
was when I could?no longer connect to my radio with their software, after having it work?
fine for?a few hours.? If you look at my stats on the club compilation site, you'll see my
frequency as 0.0000.? Yeah, right.? Back to N1MM so I can have some FD fun.? Good luck y'all!

I went through there around 2 PM yesterday and both Park and Ranch sides were fully open with all fields in use. Nothing being held back.

I have an approved permit for use of Ranch side on Field Day.

Attention GVARC / SBCARA Members and Friends!

?

Reminder that we will be at Christmas Hill Park for the 2021 ARRL Field Day on Saturday, June 26th. Setup at 08:00, operating from 11:00 – 20:00, then teardown by 20:30 or so (sunset is at 20:30).

?

We will currently be operating on 15, 20 and 40 meters, voice and digital. If you want to set up a station on another band (10 or 80, voice and/or digital), let us know.? Also, let us know if you want to come and operate with an existing station in a Covid-compliant manner.? Or just visit with folks in our first get together since last year (providing the State opens up on June 15th and Santa Clara County does not pose addition restrictions).

?

For those who want to operate at home, here are the ARRL rules that cover home stations and their contribution to a single club score:

See:

“The COVID-19 pandemic-modified rules from 2020 will continue this June with the addition of a power limit imposed on Class D (Home Stations) and Class E (Home Stations-Emergency Power) participants. The news from the ARRL Board’s Programs and Services Committee comes as many clubs and groups are starting preparations for Field Day in earnest. Field Day 2021 will take place June 26 – 27.

“This early decision should alleviate any hesitancy that radio clubs and individual Field Day participants may have with their planning for the event,” said ARRL Contest Program Manager Paul Bourque, N1SFE.

For Field Day 2021:

·???????? Class D stations may work all other Field Day stations, including other Class D stations, for points. This year, however, Class D and Class E stations will be limited to 150 W PEP output.

·???????? An aggregate club score will be published — just as it was done last year. The aggregate score will be a sum of all individual entries that attributed their score to that of a specific club.”

All stations will be using the N3FJP Field Day contest logging software ( ). If you are operating a station at the Park or at home you will need to download and register a copy of the software. Later on we will provide directions on how to get us your information so we can merge it with the other station logs. All stations will use the W6GGF call sign during the contest.

Reminder that you will need to bring your own food and beverages. If you are setting up a station of your own you will need to supply your own antenna, cables, table, chair(s) and power. We will NOT have access to AC power at the Park.

If you intend to participate or visit, please respond to Heatherly (N6HKT) at: heatherly@... and Sam (ai6og@... ).

?

Greetings GVARC members and friends!

We have been approved to use a portion of Christmas Hill Park (the Ranch Site near the old barn) for Field Day 2021.? Our plan for this year is to have a COVID-19 compliant, austere operation.? We will not have access to the TEEC Building this year (it is a temporary Gilroy Fire Station), so we will operate “in the rough” in the dirt area behind the barn and parking lot on the Ranch Site.

Currently, we plan on setting up at 0800 hours and operating the following stations from 1100 hours (official Field Day start time) to around 2000 hours:

15 meter phone (Sam AI6OG) and digital (Sam AI6OG, unless someone else wants to work digital on their own station!)

20 meter phone (Ray N6DZK) and digital (Brian K6GAN)

40 meter phone (Jack W6KRK) and Tim (W6TST) and digital __(tbd)__

You are welcome to set up a station on 10 or 80 meters phone/digital, or 40 meter digital.? You will need to supply all your own equipment, laptop (for scoring), antenna, cables, and power. You can also offer to assist with one of the current planned stations.? We will not have access to AC power mains; for this Field Day we are operating on battery/solar emergency power. Antennas will likely not be elaborate, expect to see several Wolf River Coils or similar.

We will not be providing food.? If you plan to participate or visit, you will need to bring your own water/beverages and food/snacks.? Porta potties are available nearby, or you can visit the park facilities on the Park Side (approx. 1,400 feet away). We will also need to follow all current COVID-19 guidance from the State and Santa Clara County, whatever that guidance may be after the planned State opening date of June 15th. For now, this means face masks, distancing, and sanitizer.

If you intend to participate or visit, please respond to Heatherly (N6HKT) at: heatherly@....

2021 GVARC Field Day Update: Join us in the field!

开云体育

Thanks and regards,

Sam, Ray, Tim, Heatherly and Jack

Hello, GVARC hams,?

?

Field Day 2021 is June 26th which just around the corner.? ?

?

We will most likely be at Christmas Hill Park in the dirt lot close to the Red Barn; the TEEC building?is a temporary Fire Station and is completely off-limits for our use.?

?

This year we will be able to group our score together as a club whether you come out to Christmas Hill Park or transmit from home; more on this and the rules later.?

?

The purpose of this email is to find out who would like to come to the park, and set up?and/or work a radio station.? Do you want to run 20m or 40m?? How about FT8 or CW?? Been wanting to try your new Buddie Pole or Wolf River Coil?

?

Please let me know by email directly to heatherly@....? I will consolidate everyone's replies and let everyone know.??

?

Thank you and 73,?

Heatherly, N6HKT

Re: GVARC Monthly Virtual Breakfast 5/29 @ 9 AM!

Hi Sam,

I am traveling in Annapolis this Saturday and will not be at the breakfast.
However, I wanted you to know that I am available for whatever you need for help at the Garlic Festival.
Also I'll have to check, but I'm not sure my dues check ever cleared that I wrote in January??
It was sent to the PO Box.

Thank you,

Stephanie
