Registration Issue? "ERROR!!: Certification error."

I registered on the W6CX system a few years ago to try out D-Star using the Peanut app. I didn't have a D-Star capable radio at the time. I have a IC-705 coming in the mail next week so I went to log in to the Gateway System page and it just gives me an "ERROR!!: Certification error." message. I spoke to Icom while at Pacificon this year and they said I could reach the main D-Star admins to have them remove me so I could register at the new main registration page but I've yet to find any contact info. I did send an email to?dstar@...?without any response. Right now I appear to be locked out of using this digital mode.?

Does anyone know how to fix this or get ahold of the W6CX admin of the gateway?

Ken,

I see at that you set up your account at the W6CX gateway on Dec 8, 2019 and set up a terminal with blank module letter on the same day.? This is all you need to be able to talk on REF reflectors or use callsign routing.

If you need to add a terminal or change the existing one, just go to and log on using your callsign in CAPITAL letters and your password.? If you can’t find your password, just click on the “Forgot your password?? Click here” link to reset it.

If you still have problems, please email us directly using the link at the bottom of the above log on page “Questions? Please contact the W6CX D-STAR Gateway Admins”.

Thanks for the reply Jim. I'm not able to log in because I get the "ERROR!! : Certification error."?error when I try to log in (See Attached Image). That's the reason for my post. I've also had zero response from using the email address on the page. I've been trying to get this resolved for over a month. Icom said to have you delete my registration from W6CX and I could re-register from the main one.

Your screenshot shows me pretty small letters, so I can’t quite make out what you entered for callsign.? But the ICOM software will not upcase the callsign field for you.?? If you enter any small case letters (such as n6ken), you will not be able to log on.? Be sure to enter N6KEN in UPPER CASE.

PS I suspect you want to add another terminal that will have the AccessPoint option checked:

After logging on

  • click on the “Personal Information” link on the top right
  • click the 2nd box
  • enter a letter (like Z)? in the “Initial” box
  • Click the AccessPoint box
  • Click the Update button

It's all capitals on the callsign. I can't log in. I reset my password. That is not the issue. Are you able to remove me from the W6CX gateway? That is what Icom said I should have done.

Ken,

I just sent you a direct email – I have reset your password and was able to log on.? I took the liberty of adding one terminal (Z with AccessPoint box checked, since that is the 2nd most used terminal that people need.? I also emailed your new password, which of course you should probably change when you get a chance.

One other suggestion.? Sometimes when logged on, if you don’t get logged off properly, it is hard to log back in again.

The fix is at the bottom of the registration page:

Trouble logging on because you didn't log out from previous session?

That will fix things and let you log on.? But hopefully you won’t see that error again.

THANK YOU JIM! I'm able to log in now. :) Just in time for 705 to show up on Wednesday. I appreciate the help. Look forward to trying out D-Star on a real radio.?
