From 22 May 2024 at 2000 (8:00 pm) until 23 May 2024 at 0700 (7:00 am), we have a 5% probability of winds in excess of 50 kts (58 mph). We also have a 5% probability of hail in excess of 1 inch. ? From 23 May 2024 at 0700 (7:00 am) until 24 May 2024 at 0700 (7:00 am), we have a 2% probability of an EF1 or greater tornado, and a 15% chance of damaging winds 50 Kts (58 mph) or greater. We also have a 15% probability of hail 1 inch or larger and a 10% probability of hail 2 inch or larger. ? Monitor 147.240 +600 162.2 in case we need to activate SKYWARN. All licensed hams may participate in a Hood County SKYWARN net. Your non-ham family and friends may participate by using the IOS or Android mPING app. ?Most importantly, keep yourself and your family safe. ? Check for the latest NWS Storm Prediction Center information. The website gives times in Zulu Time. Zulu Time is the same as Universal Time Coordinated (UTC). UTC used to be called Greenwich Mean Time (GMT). To convert Zulu time to Central Daylight time, subtract 5 hours. Remember that date in Zulu Time changes 5 hours before the date in Central Daylight Time. Just think, the day starts 5 hours earlier in England than in Texas. ? This part is unimportant, but possibly interesting. The term Zulu Time came from the military. When working on large scale operations, it is confusing for each unit to use local time. It is much easier to coordinate large scale operation if everyone is using the same time. The military chose GMT as the time that all units would use. However, pilots did not want to call it GMT, so they used Zero Time. Zero Time (UTC) in the time where no (zero) hours or minutes need to be added or subtracted to match GMT (now UTC). Trying to say 0800 Z would be confusing ?if the pilot said 0800 zero. To keep communications clear, the pilots used the phonetic alphabet. Zero Time became Zulu Time. Now the pilot could say 0800 Zulu and everyone would understand. In the past, I have been a member of the original Lockheed Martin Amateur Radio Club, but passed the re-new application after a few years. What are the plans for parking at this Concert in the Garden Alternate for the concert at the Amon Carter Museum of American Art. Some of the members that attended last nights meeting wanted the date and time of the FTW Symphony's single outdoor even this summer.
