This year marks the 80th anniversary of VE Day (Victory in Europe).
Hostilities ceased in the European theater of operations May 8, 1945.
I requested, and been granted, the special event callsign W2V, "World 2 Victory".?
This special event and callsign is to commemorate the sacrifice and determination of our service personnel who achieved the unconditional surrender of Axis forces in Europe.?
The special even will commence Thursday May 8, 2025 and run through Sunday May 18, 2025. All modes and all bands.
Five years ago, W1ORS, along with members operating from their personal stations, participated in the VE and VJ 75th anniversary special events.?
I am hoping that I can count on your support as operators for the SE.?
Stations working W2V would be responsible to send an SASE for a card.??
I would handle the receipt of those SASE's and mailing of the cards.?
I am contacting Lockheed, Boeing and Northrop Grumman for the possible sponsoring of the QSL cards. All of these firms greatly contributed to the war effort in Europe.?
If the sponsoring does not pan out I might have to "pass the hat" for a some help.??
Nevertheless, the SE is a GO and I would like you folks to be part of it.?

I still can't stand up for extended periods of time due to my knee injury...physical therapy starts tomorrow
I've been trying to assemble bits and pieces in the garage so I can sit and reduce time on my knee
Next is to build the antennas as sub assemblies in the garage
