MSG FWD SARC Members; if you are subscribed to the CTSM's News Letters, then you may disregard this MSG. One interesting point: He reports that someone in Stratford is building a MESH Network. A few years ago I made a topo map of several of our members who were within MESH distances and the easily available equipment to install a club net amongst us. If anyone is interested, I'll dig out the data which outlines the antenna gain, azimuth, height above ground and power required for each of the 4 or 5 local members. I have a MESH Yagi that I tested at the club with my laptop and a wifi card. I was receiving signals from a dozen or more wifi nets in the neighborhood across from the park. Most were secured networks, but I wanted to see the range, gain and directive Q of the antenna. I was impressed. BTW: The yagi was not very high. The tower it was on was a wooden folding chair fastened with Duct Tape -- Hi Tech! It will be up and functioning 24/7. This now gives folks in lower Fairfield County (CT ARES Region 1) access to the mighty KB1AEV linked repeater network that covers a large portion of CT. Bob, N1KPR <rwbetts@...> added the photo album Flag Proposals : Hello Members: In recent meeting discussions, we decided that SARC needs an official flag. We have one that I stenciled back in the early 1990s, but that is homemade and it really looks homemade. I came up with a few designs and we now solicit anyone's addition to the design submissions. I will bring my flag designs to the club tomorrow, (3/22) and leave a vote sheet for members to review and vote on their preference. Please feel free to draft your own design. In a few weeks, we will motion, at the April meeting, to consider all suggestions and resolve the proposals. The designs are numbered, so voting is as simple as replying, “ I like No. xx.”

This inquiry is part of the FCC's ongoing effort to alleviate regulatory burdens across various services, including the Amateur Radio Service. As part of this review, ARRL is conducting a thorough examination of the provisions in Part 97 and related rules that affect amateur radio operators. ARRL’s written comments, which will be prepared by our FCC Counsel and the ARRL Executive Committee, will include consideration of feedback we received from members. Members who want to share comments and concerns about this matter are urged to share your feedback directly with ARRL. Please submit your comments by March 31, 2025 and use the following feedback form: www.arrl.org/fcc-public-notice-march-2025 ARRL will submit our official filing to the FCC by the April 11 deadline.
