PC reboot Analyzer questions
Don Poaps
Good Afternoon
I have a question regrading the re booting of the PC. I have RMS Packet and RMS Relay in my start up menu. Should I add RMS Analyzer to the startup or does it called from Trimode? I have not seen any info in the RMS analyzer PDF file so far. later Don Poaps New Westminster, BC VA7DGP |

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýDon,RMS Analyzer picks up the data from a running copy of Trimode. If you are not running Trimode, there are no files being created. Thomas W Noel KF7RSF

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýGM Don; The fourth program on the list; RMSAnalyzer version 10.0.0 installer ? Download, unzip and run the msi program. It will install the new version of RMS Analyzer, either overlay an existing version or install a virgin copy of the new version. Let me know if u still have a problem. 73 de DoC ? Good Day
Some of you know me from my post on other Yahoo WDT Groups. What I'm trying to do is set this up via Teamview on VA7TSA. VA7TSA is the Salvation Army Winlink Gateway in Abottsford BC which run VHF and HF via RMS Packet, Relay and Trimode. I'm the Sysop for that Gateway. I also run va7dgp-10 via BPQ32 in New Westminster BC. I downloaded the files and transferred the files and I see a folder that was unzipped. I Don't see a start up file or setup in the folder. I'm going to put it to rest until I have time to understand the manual try it later to day. 73 Don Poaps New Westminster, BC VA7DGP |
VA3LKI Trimode Server Running HF Robust Packet
HF Robust Packet mode has been added to the VA3LKI RMS Trimode Server. RP frequencies are those posted on the Winlink website for 20, 30, and 40m only. DIAL frequencies are... ? 20m - 14.110.500 30m - 10,135.000 40m -? 7,090.500 With current Trimode software, only the SCS Tracker modems are able to utilize the Winlink system in RP mode.? Hopefully the WDT will soon update Trimode and Express to allow all SCS modems with DSP boards / capability to use Robust Packet. 73 Michael |

Re: Request to add feature: emaling sysop - possible?
Hi?agn,?
Exactly as it was written; I believe having an early warning system again (implemented) would limit the downtime of the?RMS's?much and moreover, increase the throughput. Isn't that why we are running these services and spending our funds? :) In best case and in best times most sysops I have been talking with check the operation of?RMS?once per day which can be extended to days even. Nothing wrong with that. In case something is wrong there is at least 18 - 24 hours long "dead time". Quite often?RMS's?disappear from?Winlink?map and?reapear?again in days ... With early warning system all this would be gone.? In my case I would connect to?RMS?via?Teamviewer, see the problem and make it work, even if I am in the middle of the?bussiness?meeting, a weekly trip or on holidays!? If I can't fix it over Internet can appoint someone to check things instead. Down time is minimised. ? I suggest building on early warning system which would give a sysop information over the number of established connections and connectivity with?Winlink?. As connectivity with?Winlink?(or reporting channels to database) is equally important to if there is some throughput on the?RMS?gateway ... if there is none and the history track record is suggesting there should be some traffic, this is reason enough to alert sysop! ? Why not starting with sending dailyRoster to sysop email address? It is obvious there would be only benefits from getting this, through?Trimode?SW or Analyzer. Best 73 Ted,? |
Re: Request to add feature: emailing sysop - possible?
Di Doc,?
Thanks for your inputs; Well I am using Teamwiever, but it is time consuming and I Believe most of the sysop's can't do it every day.? A weekly diggest was just a suggestion; it can be a daily like digest email like on for instance this yahoo group or for every established or failed contact; But at least something to start with. There was a perfectly working sysop alert system with RMS Express, there is none at present time. I have no such deep knowledge of IT services, otherwise I would gladly help to implement these features. Technology is here to work for us :) Best regards, Ted, s51ta? |
