Subject: [voip-wx-net-control] Tropical Storm Francine Forms in Southwest Gulf of Mexico - Expected to Become a Hurricane with Impacts to The Texas/Louisiana Coast Wednesday into Thursday
?
Hello to all...
Tropical Storm Francine has formed in the Southwest Gulf of Mexico. Francine is expected to intensify into a hurricane with impacts to the Texas and Louisiana Coast Wednesday into Thursday. VoIP Hurricane Net and WX4NHC, the Amateur Radio Station at the
National Hurricane Center (NHC) activation is likely some time Wednesday AM/Early PM lasting through late Wednesday Evening/Thursday Morning. Any stations in the affected area or stations with relays into the affected area of Francine are asked to join our
net and give reports based on the SKYWARN reporting criteria to support surface reporting into NHC and other partner agencies/entities. We will post a definitive activation plan some time during the day Tuesday. Advisories on Francine can be seen off the main
menu of the voipwx.net web site under Atlantic Tropical Products, via the voipwxnet Facebook and Twitter feeds and via the NHC web site at the following link:
The VoIP Hurricane Net Management Team will closely monitor the progress of Francine. Thanks to all for their continued support of the VoIP Hurricane Net!
73,Rob-KD1CY.
Director of Operations for the VoIP Hurricane Net
