need extras for scene from 1953

 

My friend Ginia, a real sweetheart and talented artist and film director lives in Tucson, and is making a film and sent me the following message below.? I suppose if you can dress the part, and are willing to help her out, please contact her.? Email is below.? (I doubt it pays!)

Hi, ?My film, Lucky U Ranch, is looking for men and woman to sit in a diner in 1953 over at Gus Balon's on 22nd Street for a few hours. ?Let me know if you're interested!!! ?It will be fun!!! ?Probably Oct. 20. ?Especially need men...(not ME...the movie!).

I'm not sure?Gus Balon's Restaurant existed in 1953. ? If I'm not mistaken it was built somewhere in the 60's.

Being built of "slump block" would put it in a later period I think.?

I seem to recall it was "new" around 1966, prior to 22nd street expanding from two lanes to the divided road we know today. That road work was done in the 1967-68 period..real fun riding a bike to Palo Verde (early shift) in the darkness of Daylight Time in early '68.
