Moving the abortion discussion to this new thread, with a close look at Article 1 of the 14th Amendment, which I find especially interesting in its prohibition of "abridgment of privileges and immunities".? Seems to state quite literally and without context that my immunities are my own and not suject to infringement. All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws. ?

开云体育“seem’ is the keyword here. ? There is no case law giving a fetus rights.? ? However and this is a big however, overturning Roe v Wade COULD lead to a Federal law which would have to eventually lead to giving a fetus rights.? I can imagine where that would lead to. ? Giving a fetus rights vs the rights of the existing human host is at odds.? Does the host have no rights? ? One line of reasoning: Are we going to jeopardize or even devalue the life of the existing human to give life to the fetus?? Going further down this path, there is nothing and will be nothing to prevent the human host being used as nothing more than a baby making factory and then disposed of when no longer productive.? That would be ultimate subjugation of women.? Fortunately for women, we seem to be headed to more of a matriarchal society that will likely prevent this from happening, at least in our lifetimes. ? Speaking of abortion…I recently heard that Dr. Bernard Nathanson, the medical face of the original Pro-Choice movement, became Pro-Life after seeing a live, thriving baby for the first time on real-time ultrasound shortly after the Supreme Court decision in Roe v. Wade?

开云体育You might be surprised. ? Yes, the case was based on privacy rights leading to the result that ”unduly restrictive state regulation of abortion is UNCONSTITUTIONAL”. ? That takes us back to my original reply to you on this subject wherein you tried to tell me the constitution was anti-abortion.? So I asked you to explain (how) Roe v Wade (could be) if the constitution is anti-abortion. ? Your answer to try to denigrate me, my knowledge, my reasoning ability or chide me as if I am one of your children is wholly inappropriate.? Why is that always the response tactic from the far right?? Can’t we discuss apples with apples instead of deflecting to personal attacks or substituting oranges for one set of the apples? ? Nope.? Propaganda has fogged your information lens.? The?Roe decision had to do with the right of privacy and government overreach into medical records.? It had absolutely nothing to do with legalizing abortion.? It actually resulted in more abortions being performed because the government was precluded from documenting abortions in its efforts to Constitutionally protect innocent life.
