Re: Feral hacks 102 year old to death
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýI read about it. Even though the cops got the "feral vermin," Gascon either will not prosecute it, will recommend psychological treatment or will release it in the custody of an organization like Hope of the Valley, which will house it in one of the "Tiny Homes" in North Hollywood. P.S. - I was sent to ND Jail for one a locigal and lengthy treatise on a "viable and practical" solution to the feral problem.? However, my referring to the ferals as an "infestation," got the attention of the libertards. I sent the verbatim text of the comment to Scott Mandrell last week though.? Here it is; "Here are a couple of videos made a few weeks ago about the infestation ALREADY in Studio City and the approaching threat of new migration from an adjacent section of North Hollywood.? Welcome to the preview of the growing deterioration: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=uhsyEeQ0aRc https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=G5UEj98flyM&t=50s If we keep tolerating their presence, they will not only become a permanent fixture, but they will also attract others like them. Some "self-proclaimed" persons of compassion and other so-called "enlightened individuals" contend that a lack of group housing is the problem.? However, such housing SHOULD NOT be located in residential areas or where local businesses operate (or trying to operate), as the presence of government-funded homeless compounds would discourage people from patronizing local businesses; make the neighborhood less desirable to live in; and further diminish the economic viability of the affected areas. If group housing, through government funding, is to be provided it is better to locate those? shelters in an "isolated institutional setting," preferably in less viable areas of the city or county. By setting up compounds in isolated areas, where the homeless can be kept docile, supervised and controlled, while being secured within a defined area, they may pose less of a perceived or actual threat to the more viable residential neighborhoods and commercial areas. The "Tiny Homes" concept may be a good idea; however, the location is misplaced.? Locating the current, recently-completed "Tiny Homes" compound in its present North Hollywood location does not appear? consistent with the pre-existing and? normal residential and business objectives of the surrounding area.? Better to have the "Tiny Home" project located in a more isolated area, so that there will be a minimal effect on pre-existing residential and business surroundings.? The current placement of the "Tiny Homes" is more of a "public niusance" rather than a "public service." Of course, this proposal is based on a premise that the "homeless" have an actual desire for such housing and meals to be provided to them, as well as counseling and training.? For those who are "inherently incorrigible," no amount of "soup kitchens or Tiny Homes," regardless of location, will help." Re: Feral hacks 102 year old to death
The typical woke response is that the housed commit more murders and crimes than the homeless. To which I like to remind them
that there are 10 million + people in LA County, 70,000 + homeless.? Numerically, the housed will win all categories, per capita the homeless win by a factor.? ?I tried to find a story that indicates the suspect is one of our "unhoused neighbors", but at the moment no such luck.?? |

Baizuo. Oh the irony!
By now, I'm sure most of you heard on the news, the pejorative from the CCP,?Baizuo.? To be clear, the enemy of my enemy in this case is also my enemy.
But the irony and to a degree, the comedy, is worthy of honorable mention.?? Baizuo -? a derogatory term in Mandarin that refers to the "leftist elites" in the West, has become increasingly popular among China's netizens, a phenomenon analysts ascribe to the public's resentment against what they perceive as the superiority complex of the Western liberal elites and their ideological agenda against China.
?
Chinese netizens have long been using the term?baizuo, literally meaning "white left" to ridicule the liberal elites in the West, but Fox News only picked up the topic on Tuesday after they read an article about it written by Zhang Chenchen, a PhD in political theory and science.
?
Baizuo?refers to people who "only care about topics such as immigration, minorities, LGBT and the environment," who "have no sense of real problems in the real world," who only advocate for peace and equality to "satisfy their own feelings of moral superiority" and who are "obsessed with political correctness" that they "tolerate backward Islamic values for the sake of multiculturalism," reads Zhang's article published in opendemocracy.com on May 11.
?
The term?baizuo?is not limited to referring to the white liberal elites, as former US president Obama was considered as an advocate of?baizuo?ideology. According to Zhang, the Chinese public mentioned that?baizuo?first emerged to describe German Chancellor Angela Merkel and her decision to welcome more than 1 million third-world immigrants to Europe, which infringed upon Chinese people's right to stay in Europe. Other terms like "holy mothers" have also been invented to ridicule Western politicians who welcome Muslim immigrants and help Islamicize Europe.
?
On Zhihu, a Chinese question-and-answer website, the question "why are well-educated elites in the West seen as na?ve 'white left' in China?" has received more than 400 answers.
?
One of the users said that?baizuo?are people "who advocate inclusiveness and anti-discrimination but cannot tolerate different opinions." Another Zhihu user wrote that?baizuo's opinions were so shallow that they tend to maintain social equality by embracing ideologies that run against the basic concept of equality.
?
"Chinese people don't like the group because they think?baizuo?always exhibit a sense of superiority and hold a tough attitude towards China," said Zhu Feng, a professor at Peking University's School of International Studies.
?
Some people believe?baizuo?are phony and hypocritical and will make the situation in the West go from bad to worse, said Zhang Yiwu, a cultural scholar at Peking University.
?
Online users think the liberal elites in the West give no thought to the conditions in China when they talk about issues like animal rights, women's rights and climate change, Zhang said. |

Subject: Re: Question about Community Organizations for the NC Elections
?
Hello, a community interest stakeholder, is defined as a person who is a substantial and ongoing participant with a non-profit community organization (that has continuously maintained a physical street address for a year or more, and that performs ongoing and verifiable activities and operations that benefit the neighborhood, and is located within the NC's boundaries. A for-profit organization does not qualify.
?
It seems a church or place of worship is the most often selected type of organization, so that will be acceptable.?

Thank you,

Re: Scott is running for Studio City Neighborhood Council -- Register and Vote
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýScott,? Thanks for this and the earlier response. I understand the delicate position that you are in. With the information furnished, it appears that a claim to an affiliation to a "community organization" can be construed as open to "subjective interpretation," as long as the one-year and street address requirements for the organization are met. Consequently,? I will rely on the official "open-ended" requirements. Regards and best wishes in your endeavor! Re: Scott is running for Studio City Neighborhood Council -- Register and Vote
Good morning Robert,
That is a great question/point.? 1st, have to be a tad careful as now I'm officially a candidate.? This coming after I already received a written "challenge" as to my qualifications to run.? I also don't want to give out any ideas as to how other candidates could round up additional votes.? That being said, the FAQ's indicate? ?"I qualify to Vote in (NC Name) because I have a community interest at (Community Organization Name) located at (Street Address, City, and Zip Code)."? Clear as mud.? ?Then there is this -? "The Office of the City Clerk is seeking community organizations to be service providers for the unhoused, monolingual speakers, youth, seniors, the disabled, and individuals without access to digital technology to participate in the 2021 All Vote-By-Mail Neighborhood Council Elections."? There is a link to the community organizations that have already signed up for this task, I don't see any houses of worship on the list.? Here is their link which provides examples of the types of organizations they consider community.? But I don't believe this is all inclusive/exclusive.? In Studio City, only the public library is listed at the moment.?? I'm sending off an email to the clerk for more info, and I will call them later today.? Perhaps you can too?? There was a candidate Zoom forum the other day, they said the phone is manned and active for election questions.? For questions regarding the application process, please contact our office at (213) 978-0444.? |
Re: Scott is running for Studio City Neighborhood Council -- Register and Vote
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýScott, Congratulations!!!!! My question about qualifications for voting center on the "community participation" aspect. Specifically, would attending regular worship services at one of the houses of worship (synagogue, church, mosque, etc.) or attend a regularly-scheduled support group meeting located within the specified boundaries qualify someone to vote in the SCNC election? To me, the activities that I noted above are "community-based activities." Comments and observations on this "broad" interpretation will be welcome, as my residence is outside of those boundaries. Also, bear in mind that the "bleeding heart libertards" are fully capable of gathering votes from the freaks who have set up camp within the boundaries.
