Re: My treat -- please come!!
It was WONDERFUL -- beautiful people, beautiful family, beautiful music. You really missed a great evening. No, haven't made any of the Sacred Harp sings. Maybe the next one in CU. Y're a good daughter -- assisted living isn't supposed to be such hard work for the family. Maybe it's just the adjustment period and that will subside. Stay warm, come dancing sometime, Happy Thanksgiving!

There isn't a contra dance this Friday (11/21). There is a concert at the Virginia Theatre in Champaign called "Granny's Porch: Reliving the Melodies that Moved Lincoln and the Nation." I think some of the people who were in the band last Friday may also be playing in the concert this Friday. Perhaps that is what you are seeing. Welcome to the new Urbana Country Dancers email list
This group will be for used for announcements of upcoming dances
held by the Urbana Country Dancers in Urbana, IL. There will also be announcements of other dance and music events of interest to the Champaign-Urbana contra dance community. In addition there may be some discussion of dance and music and other aspects of our community. We have combined both of the former Prairienet lists into a single list. If you were subscribed to the contra-announcements-l list we have set your email delivery mode to Special Notices. That means you will get announcements of upcoming dances and other special events, but won't see any of the discussion messages. If you want to be more involved you can change your setting to Individual Emails or Daily Digests. Those people from the contra-l list have their delivery mode set to Individual Emails or Daily Digests, depending on what their setting was on the Prairienet list. Hopefully for most people this list will function much the same as the old list. All subscribers are welcome to post on-topic messages to the list. Keep in mind that those with the setting of Special Notices will not see most of these messages, just the announcements of upcoming dances and other special messages such as this one. So if you have an announcement that you want to go out to the entire list send it to one of the moderators who will send it out to the list as a Special Notice. At the moment the moderators are Dan Lewart <dslewart@...> and Jonathan Sivier <jsivier@...>. In the process of transferring people to the new list we came across several duplicate addresses. Many were eliminated, but there may still be some. If you get more than one copy of this message contact Jonathan Sivier to get your duplicate address removed from the list. |
