I just learned from you about this new app (supposedly internally referred to as "new tws").?
FWIW, it looks pretty superficial at?this point with what seemed to me like about 33% features of the smallish mobile app at best, and although there is a lot in its pipeline according to IBKR website, I wonder if it's just going to be an eye-candied and simplified alternative to TWS for the non-PRO users. And honestly I'd be flabbergasted if they?ditched all the work that has gone into TWS+API for no?apparent?benefit. Besides, it's still Java and this could mean the underlying data protocols are carried over from TWS (likely spanning the mobile app as well), suggesting almost trivial migration of the API capability. I don't see this as a potential breaking change so far.
Still, the concern you raised resonates, so I sent a consonant inquiry to the feedback?email address that they provided - let's see what they?say.
As you guys probably know by now, there is a new desktop APP. I was wondering if anyone here knew what the long term plan is? Would it be to stop TWS completely and have everyone move to the new desktop app? I hope they will continue to support trading? via a API. Its probably going to be a lot of work for us to learn and debug the API once thats available. I was wondering what thoughts you guys have about this pending change
