That is correct. But ...
- Instead a TIF of GAT we use GTC for the closing order just like for all other orders, and control the activation time with a TimeCondition.
- I also would add the same TimeCondition to the parent (opening) order and set ConditionsCancelOrder to true for the parent. This ensures that the entire bracket order self destructs at your cutoff time in case the parent has not started to fill yet. Otherwise it could fill just before market closes giving the closing order not enough time to work.
This post has consumed a lot of oxygen already (we are getting to 30 messages) and I get the feeling that I am repeating myself. I suggest you now go ahead and extensively try our recommendations to get an even better visceral feel for how brackets and OCAs work.
