I have a 1985 huntsman and when I bought it (38K and one owner) I did
not know about the axle issue. It has the bolted together wheels and
no problems thus far. O well, thats another story. Coming off a
trip to upper NY it has developed a ringing noise for about 3-4
minutes when cold. It goes away after warm. The local mechanic told
me its a "piston slap" probably due to a piece of carbon or ?.
Anyway he said not to worry - he sees toyota's with 150K that have
had this almost since new.
Has anybody else had this problem with the 22R, 4 spd?
Also the blower on heater/AC works but no air comes out of the
vents. Just after I bought it I cleaned leaves out of the blower but
that was two years ago. Any thoughts.
I enjoy the dialog from the group and am learning a lot - just wish
ole toyota would get another case of the guilt with the dual wheel
issue.
