Broken inline fuse cartridge by engine

On our 1987 Sunrader, with the 22R-E, I found this wire disconnected because the fuse cartridge clasp broke. When I saw it, the fuse was gone. In the Spring of 2012, when I had stopped by Sunrader Bob's for another electrical diagnosis, he was at first puzzled by the unusual amount of wiring under the hood, not the normal setup. So here's an attempt to figure out the unorthodox.?

On the photo of the electrical device with attached wiring, it's the black wire, coming from the upper right, going out the bottom left. The other photo shows the broken fuse cartridge, with the wire going into the firewall. Any idea what for and what size fuse? Thank you. ?Tom

best guess- a light in the cab to tell when coach battery is charging.?
?best to follow the wire to see what it powers to know amp rating for fuse

I have a fuse cartridge like that on my 22re. If I recall, when I had to replace it, it was a 6 amp fuse. ?That was like 20 years ago so, so I could be wrong. ?I also can’t remember what I was told about what it was for.
Maybe other folks here can explain.

Oh, Tika, nice to read from you again. You've been helpful to me in the past, going back to 2012. At age 79, I've slowed down a lot, with our Sunrader covered most of the year. Last time we had it on the road, a short 3 day trip, was a year ago.
I'll watch for what others may say, and enough may have been said. If no more, I'll try a 6 amp and see what happens, or doesn't happen. ?Tom

Hi, I would say that plastic fuse holders like this are a weak solution. I have a few that have broken due to heat and sunlight. I suggest these:
