Bright lights on the dash mean you have good battery power. The click means your ignition switch (key) is getting through to the starter relay (where the click is likely coming from). Most likely,

When mine was flat towed just 8 miles to the shop, the tow guy disconnected the drive line at the differential and tied it up. That's to protect the transmission he said.
