My 1985 Rogue 22r with the good axle, manual transmission, and (heavy) siding like the kind used on 18 wheeler trailers, went on a diet last year and I ripped out the oven, roof AC, water heater, and 3-way fridge (which was broken in 3 ways). Weighed it after unloading post trip at the local scale... just under 6000 lbs.

I too have a trailer hitch attached to the welded rear chassis extension and am thinking about how I could design a small wheel that could be bolted into the hitch just like a trailer ball.? Or slide into the receiver....? I wonder where I would get a small tough wheel like that. Is your small wheel all steel ? The only thing I can think of is the small swivel wheels on the heavy duty carts at Home Depot and the non swivel wheels on Dumpsters.

Hello Scott ...? we have a 87 RV 22 feet, has some extra things added, loaded with water scaled around 6600 pounds, (22re) ... Yes getting these rv's towed is a concern, with the frame extension and water tanks under there. Mine has a small wheel (2.5") in the receiver hitch. This sometimes would drag on a steep angle incline
