I know electronics and repaired my own ECU when it went bad.?
If the part number and model number of the ECU are not exactly the same there's something different with them and even though it may plug in it might not work properly-don't don't try it.?
I have downloaded many Toyota ECU schematics for pickups and my RV and compared them, if the part numbers are different that means it could be anything from a minor one pin call out difference to many pins different.?
There is only one way to know for sure if a different ECU model number will work would be to download the schematics for both units and compare them.
