Self Test Fail

I have bought a second Tinysa (as a spare/ in case I misly one.......).

I was a bit hesitant about clones and also the huge extra to pay now the UK is outside Europe. I chose what seemed to be a UK selker, with UK stock and short (5 day) delivery time, on Fleabay, for ?52 delivered.

It arrived in 4 days (today) and I immediately did the self-test...
? It passed.
I ?immediately sent positive feedback to the seller and as mine is probably old stock, (it has the small spurs which can be supressed with three tiny capacitors) warned him of clones on further stocking, as he seems to be a general, not specialist electronics seller. He is ¡°m_s_store¡±

Hi Steve,

Have you updated the firmware before celebrating the self test pass? It is apparent in my clone that the firmware that came with it had been modified that self test always passes even though the data displayed on screen behind the text during the test is the same as that which the official firmware calls a fail.

All the best.

Ooer...

Thankyou for that warning.

No I did not. However, I have seen the screenshots of the failed tests and I watched closely as the tests progressed on mine. The worst failures are the two bandpass tests, where the actual (yellow) trace has to be within the green rectangle. It was nicely in these on both, so I am confident it is ok. I have not got the time to update at present but will as soon as time allows.
