Re: What to do when you think you bought a tinySA clone.
Thanks Eric.? Connecting the HIGH and LOW ports enabled all self-tests to pass.? Now I am supposed to do a LOW level calibration.? Do I leave the HIGH and LOW ports connected via cable for this

Re: Self Test Fail
Yes, I would agree on going for the refund, but if one was left with an unuseable carcass, it seems a pity to confine it to the Universal Storage System. I suppose the battery and screen might be

I know I need the read the manual, but with this talk of clones I wanted to do a quick check on my TinySA.? I tried running Self-Test from the menu but got some errors, with the errors suggesting I

Re: Self Test Fail
Steve,
Erik spent a lot of time engineering the BPF and that knowledge cannot be copied as easily as cloning a PCB.? The tinySA hardware is not open source so I would think any cloner would have a

Re: Self Test Fail
Yes,
If these clones are originating from a single source then:
1. The back of the unit will not have a white sticker with a serial number.
2. "Tiny Spertrum Analyzer" on the back will have "Spectrum"

Re: Self Test Fail
I hate to say this, but you may have a bad clone. I have ran the self test on my two SA's after updating the firmware and they both passed all tests.
The other thing could be a bad solder connection

Re: Self Test Fail
What exactly is it that is failing, as all clones seem to have the same screenshot which should be a bandpass but looks like a flat response with a kink in it.
Are the 400mhz saw filters

Re: Self Test Fail
I know that Eric has already ID this as a clone. Can you take a photo of the back of the unit. This will also help others IDing clones. I think Eric said that clones do not have S/N on the back of the

Re: noise floor at ~1Mhz
I am amazed to see how good this is working for the price. The PC software is also working great.
Thank you Erik!

Re: noise floor at ~1Mhz
This is normal
The stairs come from the stepwise increase of internal amplifications of the auto AGC algorithm
If you want to measure very weak signals below 1MHz I suggest to set the AGC to on? (not

There is something wrong.
#tinysa
Hi2all.
My TinySA Fail at first on Test 7.
I also look at the BFS in the Expert Menue.
Is it an Hardwaredefekt?
Does anyone have any advice on why?
Michael.

noise floor at ~1Mhz
Just received one TinySA from R&L and testing the unit, updated firmware and calibrated.
I have a question - I see an increased noise floor at 1Mhz and below on the LOW input, it does look the same
