Terry, a crystal earphone would be saturated by the output voltage of the STM32 port. On the other hand, I think the main function of the resistors and capacitor is to protect the STM32 port from ESD,

Both "+60", "dBm" and "-40" in the left status panel should be red after a successful calibration reset.

One more request
Can you do a reset of the level calibration as this could be caused by a failed level calibration
CONFIG/LEVEL CAL/RESET CALIBRATION
This should change the ref level and bottom level
