Re: Self-Test fails after firmware upgrade (maybe even failed before, didn't check)
Sounds like it's time to stop buying from that chinese site. I know some people like the site, but at some point they will get you with something.

Re: Self-Test fails after firmware upgrade (maybe even failed before, didn't check)
I opened a dispute on Aliexpress and linked on they wiki and on this posting to confirm the seller is selling unauthorized clones.
Of course the seller rejected my dispute and claimed he sells same

Good Morning All,
Didn't fail ST-9 this morning. I attached screen lock images of ST-7 and ST-8 failing tests.

Re: New tinySA failing Self-test after FW upgrade
Can you post a picture of the failing selftest #9?
Test #9 was made more sensitive in newer FW, maybe too sensitive.

Re: Protecting your TinySA from damage
If you have male-to-female connector savers on your SA they make a nice handy touch point for grounding yourself when you pick up the unit.

Re: New tinySA failing Self-test after FW upgrade
Just tried the self test with some $900 GORE jumper cables and it passes all the time with 77, well so far. I wonder if its an noise issue, I have TONS of RFI here and the GORE is much better

Roger -
Mine failed right out of the box and appears to be a clone model which I had no clue existed. Shipping back to seller tomorrow and will probably scratch the idea of buying one now.

Protecting your TinySA from damage
Some users have unfortunately experienced TinySA failures.? Some may be from production issues but others are probably due to exceeding safe levels at the input or perhaps from ESD (static)

Re: New tinySA failing Self-test after FW upgrade
FWIW I have had no ESD issues with my early TinySA and I don't exactly baby it. It may be because after 30+ years of working with PCs both professionally and as a hobby I have developed ESD-safe

Re: New tinySA failing Self-test after FW upgrade
There is some ESD protection when the attenuator is set to manual minimum 10dB.

Test 12 tests the attenuator so it's normal test 12 fails. As the levels are off due to wrong attenuator some other test may be critical . Not a real

Re: New tinySA failing Self-test after FW upgrade
Hello All;
Hello:? ?My tinySA appears to have an attenuator issue also... it's a real unit, from R&L. I have also verified the PCB etc.
My testing shows a large attenuator error pic 1, and pict 2

Re: New tinySA failing Self-test after FW upgrade
I wonder if there are some static issues. Not having a schematic I wonder if there is ESD protection on the input. An analyzer that can only be used if it is in a static free environment is kinda
