When I run a sweep with Max-hold for a few hours I notice that the PC disconnects the TinySA Ultra USB connection. I have to restart the TinySA Ultra and the software to get it going again.
I wonder

Re: 28khz
Yes, bottom end of the specified frequency range is 100 kHz. I'd ignore
anything below that.
The 28 kHz is highly likely due to a near-by or connecged switching charger
or supply. They all produce

Re: 28khz
I get the same signal at a level of -48 dB on my Ultra with a short on the antenna input.? It is a spur generated inside the tinySA.
*BUT* - You are operating below the published performance specs

Re: 28khz
28kHz is well below the specified lower frequency limit of the TinySA Ultra, which is stated as being 100kHz.
The fact you are seeing that signal, with no antenna, suggests a very dirty switching

Re: 28khz
The charger might switch at that frequency. How does it perform with
everything disconnected - no charger, no PC/laptop, and no USB cable?

Re: 28khz
Valis,
Use the appropriate cables to try the same setup when connected to a 50ohm dummy load. The device may be picking up stray signals in the shack, and the dummy load should reduce any stray EMF

Re: 28khz
Thx no nothing attached,
I observed it go from -43 dB to + 10db and back down into -40s. Had antenna connected at first, then disconnected just? and it was lying on the table on but not connected to

Re: 28khz
I should let Eric, its creator, chime in on this one. . . .
However, any digital electronic system will generate low and high
frequency energy as a basic result of its operation. Have a good

Do you have a USB cable attached? If so, try it without.

28khz
Is the tiny sa ultra capable of glitching and self generating a 28khz signal? Even without an antenna? Please see attached.
Thanks.

This bit my former employer in a wireless intercom beltpack we made. TRRS jacks didn't hold up as well as the XLrs. All it took was a dangling headset cable to snag on something as the user moved and

Audio jacks on my walkmans were first to go. My solution with limited
equipment and skills was to wire it to the pcb and let it "float" in the
flimsy plastic chasis. MP3 players and later phones or

I see this kind of stuff all the time, and I think it comes from Engineers and CAD layout folks who never repaired things before they went to engineering school.
