tinySA V1.4 Menu not working correctly
Hi
Using Ubuntu 22.04, I followed the instructions on Erik's Github to compile the code. All worked after a bit of a learning curve, but on both my tinySA's the only menu showing after resetting is 3 lines: Auto (selected), Manual(0), Back. None work, although, on 1st one, the push-down, side-to-side managed to select enough to go to config and set touch, then all came ok - but second one cannot get the switch to respond, without the 'menu' disappearing. Re: Test 11: Display Fail
Geoff, Check the cable between Cal Out and RF In connectors. Make sure it is secure. Test continuity. Try a different cable. Other than that, maybe someone else has a suggestion. *** Walt *** WA7SDY ***

Apply Custom Calibration Curve to Ultra
I own an ISO-TEE for tapping high-power signals for measurement at reduced levels on TInySA-Ultra. ? ?The tap on it is non linear so it varies with frequency. ? I am looking for a way to apply a custom curve to the Ultra to account for its tap’s frequency response. ?
Using the TinySA alone, Is there a way to measure, store, recall and apply the ISO-TEE response characteristics to the TinySA measurements?? Is there a way to import an externally created response curve?? If an externally created curve is supported, if adequate points are included, can a wide-band curve be applied to both narrow and wide-band measurement ranges? Thanks in advance for your insight. |

Jog wheel operation is a secondary means of user input. ?It is fairly straight forward, but is not as user friendly as touch screen operation.
Pressing the jog wheel in (no left or right movement) activates and deactivates menus. ? ?Pressing it while a menu item is selected activates that menu. Pushing the jog wheel left or right moves the onscreen cursor left or right when no menu is displayed.? Pushing the jog wheel left or right while a menu is displayed highlights and steps the user through the displayed menu options. The jog wheel becomes the only source for user input when certain menus are activated, such as Brightness. Hope this helps. |

Re: Observing a low frequency signal using an up converter
Remember to get a ~30db amplifier to install between the cal output and the converter. You could use an external source like a GPS controlled 10Mhz oscillator but remember that the frequency will be off exactly the amount the Tiny is off from the GPS / external oscillator.

Here's an example.? This screen shot shows the tinySA-App trace of a single scan (Moving Average Filter: off, Calc: off) with markers.? The corresponding lines of the saved CSV do not show the same amplitude values as the app markers.? To me, this looks like a scaling error in the CSV export?

When exporting CSV trace files from TinySA-App connected to my Ultra, the amplitude values in the file are around 10 dBm lower than traces shown in the app.? I tried many different RBW and points per scan and get similar results.? Can anyone try this and let me know if yours are also doing this?? Thanks! With further study, it seems that the CSV amplitude values range from 10 dBm to 20 dBm lower than the display trace.? Hmm... |
