Restore presets after firmware update?
#feature_request
I know you can restore custom calibrations, but is there a way to save preset configurations? I usually have all of them with custom ranges and parameters, and while it isn't really hard to recreate this, it is a bit "fiddly" using the small controls. (Squinty eyes and fat fingers here!) Maybe a dump through the serial console?

Re: New FW release: Waterfall now works on calculated traces
When I mentioned about the possibility of having an upper text field above the spectrum, it was a way for you to gain more space for other information, not specifically the date and time and fw version, but any other important information. Something similar to the RIGOL models.

Re: Looking for any update info on larger-screen TinySA
I received my order Nov 25th. I ordered it Nov 8th from Zeenko through Alliexpress. Initial delivery date was Dec 3rd.
One minor issue was that the display was crooked and text at the edge was being cut off. But it was an easy fix by removing the cover and realigning the screen to the silkscreen 'frame' on the PCB. The display is held in place with sticky tape and easy to work with.? Everything else appears normal. Gotta love it |

Besides that 'menu' is for the tinySA NOT the Ultra. Can you point me to where I made a mistake so I can update the wiki? (apart from some unfinished stuff in the CONFIG part) ? -- For more info on the tinySA go to https://tinysa.org/wiki/ |

开云体育I'm a visual guy, I need boxes and lines to send me in different directions and track back to my point of origin. Besides that 'menu' is for the tinySA NOT the Ultra. Mike C. Sand Mtn GA

开云体育OK, my bad. I did NOT have the 30MHz sig turned
"ON". All the tests for my Ultra passed. Guess I should have
known from my 2.8" version and that is my point or better, the
reason I'm doing a 'Functional Chart' on how the Ultra operates.
NO I'm not complaining about the functions, as a matter of fact,
I think they're all GREAT. It's just we (I) need a 'Road-Map'.
For a very rough preliminary, here's a partial on my website:??
?? I'm looking for hints on what is desirable. Do users want multiple pages in pdf or multiple pages in jpg? (I can do both) I'm working also on a method of displaying the final product that'll make it as user friendly as possible. As far as a nice BIG shinny printout, in color, well, that's another kettle of fish. Cheers, Mike C. Sand Mtn GA

开云体育Yeah, sorry, it was late last night when I put it
up and forgot to reference it. That whole map is going to take
some time but I'll put it up for anyone to copy, FREE. mgte.com/pic Mike C. Sand Mtn GA

Re: Some Questions and Observations tinySA Ultra
Linear-Averaging is useful to measure the average power of a modulated signal or noise. ?It's done before converting the measure power into dBms. ?It's tempting to use regular averaging or video filtering by setting the video bandwidth narrow, but that doesn't give you the true average power. ?Those techniques average the dBs, which is not the same as the average power since there's a log function in the middle. ?For FCC type acceptance testing they usually want to know the average power in the adjacent channels for example, and averaging the dB level over the bandwidth is close but slightly different than the true average power.

Re: New FW release: Waterfall now works on calculated traces
There is no space above the chart, unless I squeeze the chart.
Date and time can fit in the status panel, FW version info is already in status panel Extra comment across? top of chart can be considered for tinySA Ultra once the alphanumeric keyboard is added. -- For more info on the tinySA go to https://tinysa.org/wiki/ |
Re: Measurement points versus Display points
Herb, its a bit different
Hidden measurements are only inserted when step size > RBW/2. Of these measurements the maximum is used per sweep point. If step size? < RBW/2 the requested points are measured so if you select 450 points and RBW=600kHz on a 1MHz span there will be 450 measurements done which overlap a lot. -- For more info on the tinySA go to https://tinysa.org/wiki/ |
