Ok then you should know that the the "import markers" feature from QtTinySA reads Winradio marker file format.

EazyRF is able to export markers to that format, meaning you can export your complete list of frequencies to QtTinySA? !!? ;-)?

?

If you want to be able to calculate custom set of intermodulation-free carrier frequencies for your mics and take into account the scan, you're probably looking for a RF microphone coordination software, where you can import the scans from these tinySA's scanning softwares. Regarding the monitoring of these frequencies, QtTinySA recent updates made significant improvments for RF mic surveillance purposes. Custom markers give you visual and quick access to the frequencies you want to monitor.

?Thank you Simon, I just want to monitor frequencies live. QtTinySa seems to be good ! For intermod calculations, I'm using EazyRF or maybe the Wisycom/Shure software !?

Thank you guys for your time and answers!?

I'll check that!

From v0.10.1 of QtTinySA you can define your own preset frequency markers and set them to different colours.? It also has a "3D" display that shows the sweep changing over time.

Ah thank you, this software is quite good! But I work exclusively with Wisycom and Shure. Would it be possible to create your own UHF frequency banks based on services and live scans?

The current tinySA Ultra uses harmonic mode above 5.3GHz. This reduces sensitivity a bit but the ability to detect transmissions has been demonstrated up to and above 10 GHz
So no need to wait for updates to display 6.2GHz transmissions

Dear Sirs,

?

I am very interested in purchasing the latest TinySA Ultra model from your Mirfield (UK) reseller and wish to know whether the unit has forward adaptability to receive updates to expand the top end of its range above the current 5.96GHz.

?

I have in mind the imminent projected expansion of the latest 5G wi-fi mid-band to 6.2GHz.

?

I think I read on your site that the unit will operate / synchronize with Linux distros as well as the typical OS systems for data transfer.? Am I correct?

?

Thank-you in anticipation.

?

Kind regards,

Jonathan Burns

UHF Frequency Monitoring on PC software for tiny sa ultra

Hello!

I would like to know if it was possible to "block" frequencies to be able to monitor them over time on the tiny sa ultra's PC software. Let me explain: I work in live performance and the tiny can be super interesting during festivals. It could allow me to virtually block the HF frequencies (on the PC software) of several music groups playing. This way, the groups arrive and I would be able to tell them which UHF frequencies to use so as not to bother anyone and then it would be good to be able to monitor them afterwards. Is this possible, do you have another solution? Thank you! Good day.

Yes and no :-)

It depends upon what you are trying to do, and the frequency range you are interested in.

For VHF and UHF frequencies at relatively short ranges it will probably be OK, but at lower frequencies and longer distances probably not.

A few things to consider.

  • What signal level can the generator produce
  • How sensitive is your receiving equipment
  • What signal level do you require at the receiving device
  • What gain does the sending antenna have
  • What gain does the receiving antenna have
  • What frequency are you using
  • What is the distance between the sending and receiving antennas
  • Are there any obstructions between the sending and receiving antennas
  • What is the path loss between the sending and receiving antennas
  • Is the path loss greater than the combined, signal generator output level, sending antenna gain, receiving antenna gain and the receiving equipment's sensitivity

It is often convenient to use dB values to calculate things like this, and ensure that you have enough positive gain to allow it to overcome all the other losses.

I hope this provides some guidance regarding the factors you need to consider.

Martin
