Re: TinySA ULTRA LEVEL CAL -> Signal Level incorrect #ultra

The calibration did partially complete, the LNA level calibration seems to have failed.
And selftest 13 fails, this is the LNA test.
It seems the LNA is not working correctly
The reason the older FW did not show this error is because the check of the signal level during LNA calibration was only introduced in newer FW version.
You can try yo replace the LNA, this has previously been done by someone so it seems to be possible.
The LNA is U14 and it is a?BGA2817, available from many suppliers for acceptable price.
Or you can contact the supplier for replacement.

Thanks,Erik Kaashoek.? I already ordered.

Re: Calibration Issues on my new TinySA

Cal signal is correct level.
And end screen of calibration shows everything being OK.
May I suggest you contact your supplier?

Re: Correct frequency not effective with TinySA App?

Hi Erik,

yep, the offset for the TinySA App stays in the ballpark area of 500 to 700 Hz for the harmonics at 20 and 30 MHz.

Not a big issue here, just wondering...

Thanks for all your work,

Re: My tinySA Ultra Signal level Critical #ultra

Before measure signal I know the level of signal +8dbm? ?and I use physical attenuator -10dbm for reduce signal level about -2dbm with not over +6dbm (tinySA specification) .

Thanks, Hugen?. Can you suggest me what part number of RF switch, Attenuator and supplier , I will try replace it by myself .

And I test attenuator by go to MODE--Calibration Output-- 30Mhz gen output signal and connected to RF port.
And go to MEASURE--MORE--LINEAR the result see below.

And somewhere of RF SWITCH

This is very confusing.
Can you use the serial over usb command to dump the low correction table:

correction low

This will dump the correction table.
Also give the command?
leveloffset

And post the respone
Please post the data using the latest fw as I do not understand why one fw gives a success selftest and others do not

Re: Correct frequency not effective with TinySA App?

Please have look at the harmonics.
If these are also shifted 500Hz the problem is probably in tinySA-App
Not the highest priority given the official frequency resulution of half the RBW

Re: TinySA Serial Port Protocol

Hi Martin,

? ? ? ? ? Many thanks for your help!

? ? ? ? ? Attached is a new revision:

? ? ? ? ?1) I revised the title revision info to make it less confusing.

? ? ? ? ?2)? I deleted the ~Outmask~ and ~hop~ rows as I think a? separate command table for the ULTRA would be less confusing.

? ? ? ? ? 3) I changed the ~version~ description to show the actual expected output.

? ? ? ? ? Thanks again for your help! The separate pdf file for cross platform compatible distribution is a great idea! The separate odt file will be available to support revisions.

Correct frequency not effective with TinySA App?

Recently I bought one of these reasonably priced 10 MHz references and - of course first thing - attached to my TinySA via a 30dB attenuator.

I had performed EXPERT CONFIG / CORRECT FREQUENCY on a earlier occasion and was happy to find the TinySA being spot on:

Next, I started TinySA App and measured the same signal, just to find it being off by about 500 Hz:

Is this a known issue? Related to the frequency correction? Did I miss something in this group here?

TinySA: v1.3-504
TinySA App: v1.1.20.1

Yes I can do that. What signal level are we looking for?
It will be later today before I can do it. About 6 pm CST local.
Thanks again Erik

No, I changed to RG223 cable and performed the test.

tinySA4_v1.3-556-g9825888.bin is CALIBLATION and SELF TEST OK

firmware after tinySA4_v1.3-563-g1da836e.bin is Signal Level incorrect.

The firmware after tinySA4_v1.4-33-ga8bffcf.bin is also Signal Level incorrect.
