Locked Re: What to do when you think you bought a tinySA clone.

Banggood now also sends clones (at least from their CZ warehouse).

I¡¯ll try to get a refund; if the clone is illegal, I cannot send it back (because that would be illegal!).
Well, we have already established it is a fraudulent, and by the way illegal, fake.

I¡¯m still in the process of trying to get a refund from banggood.
Just got my refund.
(They didn¡¯t want me to send back the illegal clone.)

This gives us some hope that Banggood will now control their supply chain better ¡ª after all, they had been delivering genuine tinySA devices before.

(They did suppress my one-star review lamenting getting a bad clone; if they now go on sending the genuine ones, I consider that OK ¡ª after all the real tinySA does deserve the 100 % five-star review it now has.)

Make sure when you make your complaint to your credit card company you tell them the genuine product was never received. What you got in the mail was a counterfeit product instead that does not work and is a trademark violation. I would close by saying the seller has committed fraud.

Of course the seller rejected my dispute and claimed he sells same quality as original and asked me to pay the full price.
I rejected that again and the case got escalated to Aliexpress.
Aliexpress now also rejected my refund request claiming the products tinySA of this seller have no quality issues.
I guess next step is to fill in the complaint form of my CC supplier and attempt to get my money back that way.
Sounds like it's time to stop buying from that chinese site. I know some people like the site, but at some point they will get you with something.

Re: New tinySA failing Self-test after FW upgrade

Good Morning All,

Didn't fail ST-9 this morning. I attached screen lock images of ST-7 and ST-8 failing tests.

Can you post a picture of the failing selftest #9?
Test #9 was made more sensitive in newer FW, maybe too sensitive.

Re: Protecting your TinySA from damage

I purchased one from R&L last night. The one I had issues with was purchased off of Ebay (seller: ideafoxtrot)

I just purchased one from R & L which should be the real thing and they said they have plenty in stock as of Thursday.
Should be at my brother tomorrow and will reply here if theirs any problems with it.
Better get one before everyone starts jacking the price up !?

If you have male-to-female connector savers on your SA they make a nice handy touch point for grounding yourself when you pick up the unit.

Re: New tinySA failing Self-test after FW upgrade

Just tried the self test with some $900 GORE jumper cables and it passes all the time with 77, well so far. I wonder if its an noise issue, I have TONS of RFI here and the GORE is much better shielded.

Roger -

Mine failed right out of the box and appears to be a clone model which I had no clue existed. Shipping back to seller tomorrow and will probably scratch the idea of buying one now.

Re: Protecting your TinySA from damage.

I had some difficulty getting the link to work but copy and paste it to the Google search window worked FB.

A good read and excellent info to keep in mind for the Tinysa and the whatever flavour of Nanovna you have.
