My tinySA ultra arrived and I've already done some experiments here.
I still miss the external ATT configuration being saved automatically, because if I use an external attenuator permanently, I always have to keep informing that I am using this external attenuator and that is a little frustrating.
Preset does not solve the issue of the external attenuator, because if we use some settings, the attenuator informed simply disappears.
Another detail, but I don't know if it's an error or if it's because of impossibility: when activating any option in TRACE/CALC, we can't visualize the WATTER FALL.
One more observation is: When entering the generator mode and returning to the analyzer, all the analyzer configuration is lost. (This is not a problem, but if it went back to the previous configuration, it would be very interesting.) Also, the generator mode settings would be important if it could remain the previous configuration once we reboot or enter generator mode.
Doubts: What does the Config/Expert/DIRECT MODE and LINEAR AVERAGING option do?
In the future, will there be a way for us to be able to view SDCARD photos directly on it in tinySA? Just like in nanoVNA.?
In the future, will it be possible to demodulate FM via firmware update?
I found that the DISPLAY/SWEEP ACCURACY/FAST function does not change the speed in tinySA4, but in tinySA3 this is extremely noticeable. (I also did a test on tinySA3 and tinySA4 comparing speeds on the same settings, and I didn't notice a speed difference between the two versions.)
But I loved the device, I found it robust and perfect with that big screen and being able to go straight from 0 to 800MHz is simply amazing. Yes, it has ultra mode too. Just cheers.
Thank you for the opportunity to have a good and cheap portable spectrum analyzer.
